SuperFit (Adults)
Exercise with guaranteed results!
Sept 19th-Dec 12th. Monday & Friday 8 -9:30 am, and Wednesday
5:45-7:15pm.
Two classes a week $140, (seven week series) one class a week $77
(seven week series).
Classes are ongoing past seven weeks.

Superfit is a fun and challenging class consisting of aerobic dance
warm up, deep muscle strengthening and guided stretching throughout.
Inspiring music and a totally upbeat teacher, leads you through

Intro to Choreography: (Ages 10-13)
Monday 4-5:30pm, Sept 19-Nov 21, $100 for 10 classes.
Walk-ins $12. Instructor: Lida Winfield.
Using structured improvisation, game, brainstorming, and experimenting,
we will explore different ways to create and choreograph dances.
In this supportive and fun environment we will work both on solos
and in groups, using each other to bounce ideas off of and for feedback.
Try your ideas on yourself and on others. Explore your creativity

Structured Improvisation (Adults and Teens)
Mondays 6-8 pm, Sept 19 - Nov 21, $120 for 10 classes.
Walk-Ins $14 / class. Instructor: Lida Winfield.
Using improvisation as a tool and in a variety of structured formats,
we will explore different ways of creating movement and dance. We
will come up with ideas on the spot, share them, and rework them.
We will also discover the use of spoken word and other art forms
examining how additional factors effect our dance/movement. This
supportive class is great for dancers looking to develop new choreography
and for the non-dancer to delve into creative movement. Please pre-register

Acting for the Stage (Adults and Teens)
Monday 5-6:30pm, Sept 19-Nov 7, $125.
Instructor: M. Lynda Robinson.
Students will be taught the craft of acting through work on theatre
exercises & games, improv, scenes and monologues. Emphasis will
be on risk taking in a supportive environment as character development
and scene study skills are experienced and learned. Working at their
own pace, students will develop an understanding of emotional truth,
communication, the playing of intentions, staying centered, working
as an individual artist and within ensemble, and working “in

Acting for the Camera: (Adults and Teens)
Monday 7-9pm, Sept 19-Nov 7, $150.
Instructor: M. Lynda Robinson.
Utilizing actual commercial and film copy in a supportive and creative
environment, students will work on-camera with playback, as they
learn the skill set required by the camera. The class work will
target character, types, reading & analyzing scripts, transitions,
vocal quality, framing, improv, auditioning, working with props,

Luigi Jazz: (Adults and Teens)
Tuesday 5:45-7:15pm, Sept 20.
Seven week series for $77 or $12 for walk-ins.
Instructor: Patricia Kane (PK) This is a class for anyone and everyone
who has wanted to learn some of the most elegant and professional
moves created in jazz dance today. The class consists of a gentle,
thorough and beautifully designed, free standing and ballet-based
warm up, and finishes with a short break to put on jazz/ballet shoes
and then dancing to the choreographed routine for the day. Please

Percussion & Dance Jam: (All Ages)

African Hand Drumming

Creative Movement: (Ages 3 & 4, and 5 & 6)
Thursdays 3-4:15pm for ages three and four, 4:30-5:15 for ages
five and six.
Sept 22-Dec 15 (no class on Thanksgiving).
12 class for $120.
Instructor: Sarah Fader.
Every child is a dancer. In these classes we’ll explore rhythm,
ways of moving to a variety of music, making up our own dances,
and creating the stories that inspire them. We’ll also learn
new concrete skills: following a rhythm and reproducing it on percussion
instrument, as well as skipping, hopping on one foot, leaping and
galloping. Glamorous and exciting props will be put to extensive

Beginning Watercolor Painting: (Ages 9-13)
Saturday 10am-12pm for ages nine through thirteen.
Sept-17-Dec 10th, $325 for 13 classes.
Material fee: $18 (includes pad of watercolor paper, palette, paints
and brushes).
Instructor: Kathy Gentile Roberts.
Learn the basic techniques of painting with watercolor paints and
paper. Through teacher demonstrations, guidance, and group discussion
students will learn about the color wheel, paint palette, paper,
brushes and other important tools necessary for quality sketch and
painting. We will look at a variety of painting techniques including;
abstract, impressionism and realism and the artists who make them
famous. Fun demonstrations and hands on projects which will cover
sketching, composition, color, value and texture. A still- life
will be set up at each class. Pre-registration required: register

Writing & Movement: (Adults and Teens)
Saturday 9-10:30am, Sept 17 - Nov 19, 10 classes for $130, walk-ins

Within a safe and welcoming space we will explore and play with
language and words. We will use movement to write from the body,
loosening and stretching our creativity. Improv activities will

Children’s Theater Showcase: (Ages 8-12)
Saturday, Sept 24-Nov 12, 11am-1pm.

Adult Theater Showcase:
Saturday, Sept 24 -Nov 12. 2-4pm.
One day performance Nov 13 at 7pm.
Final technical rehearsal Nov 12th 2-5pm, $175.
Instructor: M Lynda Robinson.
Students will work toward a final performance in front of an audience,
thus incorporating all aspects of actor training: voice, movement,
character development, rehearsal process, improv, scene work, monologue
work, etc. The work environment will be safe and supportive with
emphasis on individual growth and ensemble building. The final performance
material will be a short play, monologues or scenes, depending on

Dual Identity: Halloween Mask Making Workshop: (Ages 10
– Adult)
October 25, 26, 27, 7-8:30pm. $55 +$10 material fee.
Instructor: Alison Landoni.
Make a plaster mask from your own face just in time for the Halloween
festivities. Students will construct these wearable masks from their
own design with the help and guidance of a professional. Plaster,
gauze and structure materials provided. Please bring your own decorations
to fit your design. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an

Video Puppetry Workshop (Teens and Adults)
Sunday Oct 2st, 12:30-3:30pm, $45.
Instructor Alison Landoni.
Learn how they do it on The Muppet Show! This Challenging workshop
gives you the feel of what it’s like to be a television puppeteer.
Learn basic lip synch techniques and perform them to music. We will
also try our hand at both improvising and writing and acting out

About Our Instructors
Alison Landoni, a native of Cape Ann, is a multi-faceted
artist with a background in fine arts, illustration, film/video
making, puppetry for stage & video, acting and screenwriting.
She has worked with puppet master, Nikki Tilroe, taught with Art
Harbor of Cape Ann and has performed with Theatre in the Pines in
Rockport and London, & at Windhover. She is the founder of Potamus
Puppets (now Potamus Studios) and collaborates with Blue Streak
Pictures as a writer/producer/actress/puppeteer for an upcoming
sit-com. She has worked with Cramer Productions on TV pilots &
industrial videos as a TV puppeteer. Ms. Landoni is also the Author/llustrator
or the children’s book “A Place For Spooz”.
Sarah Fader studied Dance and Theatre at Mount
Holyoke College. Her dance background includes ballet, jazz, modern,
African, Afro-Cuban, and Cuban-Modern. From 2002-2004, she taught
Carl Thomsen’s Power Moves classes at Dancer Courageous in
Gloucester, and she currently teaches classes in movement and theatre
for children in Ipswich, Essex, and Marblehead.
Jon Holland & Lisa Bouchie have lived in Gloucester
for most of their lives. Jon who is an Engineer and Lisa who is
an Art Teacher have also spent much of their free time over the
past ten years drumming, dancing and creating. They have brought
both drum circles and ensemble drumming to their local community.
Their work is always participatory and spans all age groups. They
remain deeply dedicated to community, music and art.
Patricia Kane (PK) has a 30 year background as
a professionally trained dancer, performer, teacher and choreographer.
In 1994 she became a certified personal trainer with AFAA and The
Lotte Berk Method of N.Y.C. and L.A.. She has taught group and private
instruction in a variety of settings, the most recent settings being
Dancers Courageous, Yoga for Health and the Waring School.
Kathy G. Roberts, a native of Gloucester, has
been a watercolor artist for the last 15 years. Painting many local
scenic veiws, still lifes and floral designs. Her work has been
featured at the Sawyer Free Library, the North Shore Art Association,
local banks, galleries and shops in Gloucester and Rockport. She
has enjoyed working with children of all ages during the past 25
years as a social worker and earned her MSW in 1999. Art has been
an important part of her life in expressing herself in many different
mediums. Children can learn to express themselves and develop their
confidence through the arts which can carry over to other parts
of their lives. She is very supportive of community art programs
for youth of all ages.
M. Lynda Robinson is a New England based actress/teacher/writer
and has a 25-year career in theatre, film, commercials, TV &
radio. She has worked on stage and on-camera in Boston, New York,
Florida, and Washington D.C. including principal TV work on Law
& Order, Another World, etc. Recent films include:
Dead Silent, The Retreat, Treading Water, and Johnny Slade’s
Greatest Hits.
She was awarded the Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Boston Actor
in 1993. She currently teaches “The Business of Acting”
at Emerson College.
Lida Winfield founder of the Lida Winfield-Performance
Art Studio has a diverse background in dance, theater, and the visual
arts. Winfield has studied traditional modern dance, ballet, African,
theater, sculpture, painting, and anatomy. She was a member of an
improvisational, multi-generational dance-theater company, “Working
Ground,” for eight years. She has studied, choreographed,
and performed in many locations from Burlington VT to Amsterdam
NL to Portland OR. She has worked with, and taught children and
adults on a variety of levels. Now a resident of Gloucester Winfield
has been involved with many art programs and performances, including
producing several of her own shows. Winfield is dedicated to enhancing
the arts in this community.
